Covid-19 Rapid Update: Supervisor Wagner Clarifies OC Orders

(Santa Ana, California) — A few hours ago, thousands of Orange County residents received what business owners called a "confusing order" from the OC Health Agency regarding Covid-19. A new order from the County of Orange will be released soon to clarify the situation.

According to Supervisor Don Wagner, "Businesses are not being ordered to shut down. Other than restaurants and bars, it is advised that all businesses carry on. The OC Board of Supervisors encourages telecommuting and social distancing in the workplace. If you have called the Health Department number and your office was requested to shut down, I want to reiterate that businesses or sole proprietors do not need to halt economic activity or shut down for business," said Supervisor Wagner.

The County health officials ask for all members of the public to use common sense and implement basic civil courtesies, such as washing hands and staying at home if not feeling well.

The definition of social distancing is placing 6' between yourself and another person wherever possible.
